Would be nice if it happened before my Paris trip this May!!!
That being said I am not following global currency at all, and have no idea what's possible and what's not.

It could get stronger since the EU bank put some liquidity in their market today. I only want it to get stronger for greedy reasons. See sig tag below.

I know the dollar won't correct if we do have a recession. More money will be pulled out.

I'm 50/50 on if a recession is likely to happen. I can agree with both sides of the argument.

There are lots of contradictions in the economic equation, and it's tough to figure in a Global economy....unchartered waters indeed.

50/50 means, who the fuck knows

Almost nowhere to go but up ... but who knows what will happen in the short term. The economy is being helped up by huge exports though.

I heard on the radio today that many Europeans have been flying here for vacation and not bringing anything with them ... then returning home and having to pay for extra luggage.

We may see more action from the EU to devalue their currency before our govt does anything to strengthen the dollar.

But at some point you can't keep cutting rates just for the stock market's sake or for the liquidity problem in the credit markets. You have to have a strong currency so people around the world will know that the USD has buying power and will keep its value.

We may be close, consumer spending was down in Dec. That's troubling considering Christmas falls in that month.

I believe the dollar will be down for some time. To the rest of the world we are no longer the preffered currency of choice. Kinda scary.
