Well not really first of the year but the first one not smoked at the cigar shop.
I figured after lifeguard training I'd light up a smoke, grab a beer, and break in my Bill Wyco (humidor minister) ashtray.
The beer was Sea Dog IPA which is very tastey and the cigar was a Viaje Oro Delicado.
So about the cigar. I thought it was great. The only thing I would have wanted in it was maybe a slightly tighter draw as it was a bit on the loose side. It was tight enough though that I didn't have to smoke it hard to get a mouth full of smoke. The flavor slightly reminded me of DPG Blue minus some power. If you can find these for sale I say you give them a try I loved it.
