  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hey JD,

That sure sounds like a beast of a stick....are the people really demanding these behemoths? Does the marketing info say bigger is better;) Lol. Sorry...I couldn't help myself. Seriously, why the big trend towards these larger ring gauges? In my opinion, once you get past 52/54 they get kinda awkward to smoke.

P.S. I really like most of your stuff, especially the Liga Line so I'm sure the blend will be spectacular.

I'm a Canadian currently waiting for my passport renewal to come in the mail otherwise I would fire up the canoe and join you all in IL. Is there any chance you might consider sending some samples to the Great White North for a Canadian tasting? Never hurts to ask.

Sounds great. Not a huge fan of monster ring gauges, but the blend sounds worth a try regardless! Also, fantastic name for a cigar.

As far as the size goes, some people really like those giant ring gauges these days. I have never been a big fan, but to each his or her own. Don't want anyone to get all hyped up about the stick just yet - remember that this is a FIRST ROUND BLEND. It would be extremely odd to hit it on the first round, almost impossible.

The important thing is that we're having fun !

Peace with chicken greace.

Guys. Please remember that this is a monster size stick, 6x60 and 7x60. The interesting thing is that the cigar was blended by me at Joya de Nicaragua, not at Drew Estate. The other interesting thing is that we did something extremely unusual for any JDN product, in that we used a lot of Brazillian Mata Fina as filler and used a Mexican San Andreas Capa. Of course, there is still plenty full bodied Nica filler to compliment the Brazillian Mata Fina.

Curious to see what you guys think, the good, the bad and the ugly....

I love Mata Fina.

Man, I really wish I was close by, I'd be all over it.

Any chance that good doctor will have some with him on his tour of the Cali smoke shops?

...and suddenly, all my hopes for you and Mario letting me buy that cab of the November Uzi's with the Connecticut binder were dashed in a single post...

Hey I read a little something recently about JD doing some work with Joya d Nic and was wondering if there are any other articles out there filling in more of the story. I used to LOVE JdN but they lost me a number of years ago. I haven't really found a new blend of theirs that really gets me excited so I am pumped to hear about JD working with them. Who knows the REST of the story?

What time you lighting up tonight Tim. I will head over around 6-7ish. Hopefully that gives me enough time for that monster size stick

Drew Estates has been distributing JdN in the United States for a few years now. JD has been working with them to re-energize the company and the brand. Dark Corojo and Cabinetta are a couple of the new products that are putting JdN on the map. My Uzi Weighs a Ton is JD playing around with the tobaccos at JdN while trying to put out something fun and fresh.
