Ran out of my long stick cigar matches today and used a lighter I found laying around, and never knew lighting a cigar improperly can ruined the taste completely. Yuck! If anyone has boxes of long stick cigar matches , PM.

I use them all the time. Just break up some of the thin cedar sheets from a cigar box into strips.

I had to light a cigar the other day on the golf course with a Bic lighter on a windy day. On the back nine I went in to the Porta John to light the second one in an attempt to get an even burn. I need a torch bad, all I have is my table top and can't take that golfin'.

Much much cleaner burn and taste using the cedar .

Bics work just fine for lighting cigars! Zippos suck because you can taste the fuel, but bics and other lighters really don't have an effect on the cigar.

I tried a Bic once and I could taste the difference. Never again. Cedar at home, and toches out-n-about are my preferred.
