The mouse is older than most of you probably think. In fact, it pre-dates the "personal computer era" by more than a decade. Douglas Engelbart invented the mouse in 1964, and he received a patent for it in 1970 (which expires in 1987). Sadly, he never really made any money off of the invention.

Yeah Xerox's PARC is the main source of modern computer technology, GUI, mouse, Ethernet. Apple stole it from Xerox as did M$.
