I am sitting here watching the Bruins - Capitals game and a shot just bounced off the post, making that recognizable sound, ding.

Love that sound, it is one of those sounds that happens no where else.

What are your favorite sports sounds that happens only in the game?

I have to agree with you that the sound of a puck crushing the post is amazing. I am a hockey referee and when I am working a game and there is a post strike my adrenaline starts pumping

A big tackle when the helmets smash!

A female tennis players grunt!

Nothing but net.

And although the results usually suck, the sound of a broken, or cracked bat.

The orgasms, err grunts of female tennis players... The first few times anyway, then it's annoying...

But the two best sounds in sports are the sound of a goal post if youre the team that benefits and the sound of a ball meeting a Louisville Slugger.

I also enjoy the blast from the train horn in hockey. Plus the ole, ole ole ole that is chanted at soccer matches.

Went to watch the Golden gloves fights on Saturday.

Always nice to hear the sound of the gloves as they punch each other and the ooh's and ahh's from the crowd when they hear a loud hit that lands on target.

A hard tackle in football where you can hear the crashing of the pads together throughout the stadium.

The sound of a snowboard carving the snow.

A broken bat as said before.

And a spike in beach volleyball ;)

Ice Hockey: Crash of pads/helmet/body into the glass on a big shoulder check.

Also, just the sound of blades slicing into the ice. In fact, that's super relaxing. Used to love being the only one out on a frozen pond just skating for hours working on stride, power, my edges, etc. Nothing by the wind and the skates digging into the ice.
