Bought my Toyota Tacoma 4x4 almost four years ago and have done nothing but change the oil. Wonder how long I can continue to do that...hmmm....

My guess : The tires and brakes will probably need attention soon.

Of course this all depends on the mileage you've driven in those four years and if the car is still under any warranty. Experience has shown that most major auto repairs happen right after the warranty expires.

With proper care and a paintjob, I could inevitably have this truck for the next 15 years I guess. :smt102

I average 7,500 a year. Anytime we go anywhere far, we take my wife's pussy CRV.

Be sure to service the transmission and transfer case as well....I think 30,000 miles should be the right time for these. Remember, it is not only how many miles but how long between services also as fluids break down over time.
Good idea. I am planning on taking it in the summer and letting them do a handful of stuff, including what you have mentioned.

My '96 Ford Ranger had 46 miles on it when I bought it. It turned over 200,000 miles a couple of weeks ago. Aside from tires, brakes and one set of headlights the only repair that's been required was the alternator at 196,000. I ride it hard, put it up wet and only change the oil at an average of every 5-7000 miles. I've been very lucky with this one.
On a somewhat eerie note, the truck turned 200,000 miles exactly 2.5 miles from where it turned 100,000 miles.

It helps if you go further than 2.5 miles from the house.

I drive a 96 Pontiac bonneville, just turned over 100,000 miles on it, still runs like a champ. Not a bad car really.....although for a 27 yr old it doesn't really fit my age group.

I live only about 6 miles from work so I there are only about 16,500 miles on my car. I leased it in June of '03 and it came with about 3k. Whenever we take trips I take that car so I can "run up" the miles.

I probably don't need such an expensive car when I drive so little, but it is fun to drive.

How about a Chrysler Pacifica for not fitting a 24 and 27 year old's age group. :smt046

My wife and I drive almost 70 miles round trip everyday to two different cities...that with road trips to Ohio and Michigan about once a quarter is piling the miles on our cars.
