Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
I love the BBQ and fixin's you get at the Rendezvous....some of the coldest beer I've ever drank there too!Just wanted to let you know that I'll be thinking of y'all as I eat at Central's today for lunch and Rendezvous tomorrow. Living in Memphis does have its perks! Hope you are enjoying your sauces/rubs.
I got no sauces or rubs from you...
So you are in hawg heaven?
Send me those addy's and I'll see what I can do :smile:thanks! now i'm hungry!! if you ever want to trade spices for sticks, let me know!!
Let me know if you make it this way... I'd love to share some BBQ, a beer, and a smoke with ya!I haven't been to Rendezvous since St. Patrick's Day and I've never eaten at Central. Thanks for mentioning them. I may have to make a Memphis run soon.
I don't have any recipes but let me know if you want some of the pre-bottled stuff.God I love BBQ. Purchased my first smoker this year and have been wearing the thing out! I haven't started making my own sauce yet. If any of you have any good recipes I would love to see them!
haha.... I know exactly what you're talking about here. I grew up in Northeast Tennessee (right on the NC boarder) and the tomato based BBQ. The first time I had BBQ in Eastern NC (vinegar based) and SC (mustard based) I didn't know what to think. Still love my tomato based but I have come to appreciate the others out there.Hmm better watch myself on here... I like the good ole eastern NC BBQ, with vinegar. However after living here in the mountains of NC, I've grown fond of mountain ketchup BBQ.
I've had BBQ all over the south, strangest so far i tried was in AL, they put mayo as a sauce.......haha.... I know exactly what you're talking about here. Yeah it was a little out there...hmmm... I don't know how I feel about that
It's not all over AL that mayo is used... Next time you're in Birmingham, Montgomery, or Tuscaloosa, I dare you to stop by Dreamlands. That's only for those of you who enjoy some white bread and ribs though, not much else on the menu.I've had BBQ all over the south, strangest so far i tried was in AL, they put mayo as a sauce.......
Only the one in Tuscaloosa has ribs and bread only...It's not all over AL that mayo is used... Next time you're in Birmingham, Montgomery, or Tuscaloosa, I dare you to stop by Dreamlands. That's only for those of you who enjoy some white bread and ribs though, not much else on the menu.
