Prior to vacation had a couple old friends over, seemed like the right time to crack the near Hazmat (139.6 proof) Old Carter American. Outstanding pour with friends.

On vacation, other friends had some great bottles. Sampled all these '70's dusties:

Some more current pours (all from 2017), the OWA single barrel was surprisingly the best of the 3 for my palate.

The highlight of them all was an original release of Baker's 107. Indescribable.

I was also gifted 4 bottles while on vacation (besides also coming home with the last few pours of the OWA). 4 amazing bottles with the highlight being a Booker's that was barreled in 1984 and bottled in 1991. Oldest Booker's I've had so far was barreled in 2008.

Based on icehog3 , Tom’s recommendation, grabbed a batch 028 Barrel Bourbon. Hope it turns out to be a good one.

Brian, if you don't like it I'll trade you for the remainder. ;) Hope you do though! (y)

Friday night I had a couple pours of the OWA pick I was gifted. Just missed OWA picks at my local chain last week, and now they're >$275 on secondary....PASS!

Went to a friend's place for some afternoon pours Saturday afternoon, some old dusties and some great recent stuff like the Russell's Reserve 13 Year and Hardin's Creek.

Late night a little Whistlepig Whiskey Rick before retiring.

Had my first pour of Michter's out for dinner last night. I was aight I guess.... granted it was only the small batch expression and they surely have better ones.

Came home, went 100 proof followed by 137 proof.

13 year BiB Dickel.

Not bad for the initial pour, at 100 proof, not the flavor profile I’m used to but overall an ok pour. Needs some air to open up a bit then will probably be a bit better.
