Nothing dropped at Binny's today besides finished whiskeys and some ryes. I have been hearing good things locally about Clark & Sheffield Barrel Proof. Sourced at 1792, it's bottled at the same proof as 1792 FP, which you know I like from the previous picture. At $34, decided to take a shot.

I almost opened it last night, Jim, I definitely think I'll open it tonight. I wasn't aware these were Coy Hill...Bonus!

I did open the Clark & Sheffield Barrel Proof last night. There is nothing "1792" about it. Rye spice and pepper initially, a little bit of dark fruit sweetness when it opened up. I'd pay the extra $15 for a 1792 FP over this all day.

Opened this up last night, and you were right, Jim, it did not disappoint. Smoky and rich, it has that barrel char flavor in the best possible way. Definitely a keeper!

I like it. Some people claim that it's a stag Jr Jr. I don't know if I'd go that far but for the $22 price tag it's worth the price of admission.
