My cousin got me a bottle of Blue Run 1985 Chicago Bears edition. It's really just the High Rye core version with a couple special touches, but it's still an excellent pour. I got him the Jack Daniel's Heritage Toasted, I think he might have finally outdone me this year.

IMG_8610.jpegServiceable. Easy drinker. Umm. For a few dollars more I’m into old grandad 114. Prolly won’t grab more but I did snag 3 bottles while I was there. Passed one to my good buddy. Overall happy with the purchase but takes up space on my shelf. Prolly just gonna finish it out.

Had some woodford double oaked over new years
Lots of tequila and a big double of scotch.
Tonight I’m having a few too many of the Sam’s club bourbon I still think it’s very respectable for the price. But. There’s other offerings for very reasonable that I prefer

Opened up the Penelope Havana, finished in Cuban rum casks and maple syrup casks. It's very interesting, the rum and maple syrup notes seem to compete for palate and finish space rather than working in harmony. I wasn't sure what I was going to get each sip, but it was tasty and kept me involved. Definitely save this for when friends come over.

After the sweet pour, I brought the heat back up by opening one of my favorite booker's batches, Sip Awhile. That hits the spot.
