  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

After having a beer I decided to have a premixed manhattan. I made a bottle up back in August and the time its spent mixed has created quite a nice menagerie of a cocktail. I forget the recipe but I am sure I can nearly replicate it. The key is good brandied cherries and not those neon colored cherries. It's a 70% Rye 30% bourbon base recipe with a mix of dry and sweet vermouth with a touch of luxardo maraschino.

After a couple beers I'm having another small serving of manhattan. This is a damn good drink. I figured I'd have a nice little night cap before going to do my sleep study. Not drunk or buzzed but I have to make it like a normal night right?

Last night I made a pasta with a wild mushroom cream and had a Merry Edwards Pinot Noir. The earthly flavors of the mushrooms and pinot were a perfect pairing.
