today's lunch

hadn't been out to eat for a while, so the wife and i went into the city to a specialty burger joint. they have been given an award for the best burger in missouri for one that is stuffed with blue cheese. i'm not a fan of that, so i had a kobe beef burger with homemade garlic aolli, port reduction mushrooms on a homemade brioche bun. had it with truffle fries and an old rasputin stout. that was the FINEST burger i've ever had bar none. and believe me, i've had a few in my day!

That sounds like an expensive lunch. Anytime you put "Specialty" in front of food, I think the price doubles! :grin:

cheap it was NOT! but i don't mind paying for quality. this was as good as any "fancy restaurant" meal.
