I tried the regular production Pyrat, and thought it was quite potable. The XO is probably not bad, either. I went with Kirk & Sweeney 12 year, and so far I'm really enjoying it.
I saw the Kirk & Sweeney next to it on shelf but had never heard of it. Has great reviews so I'll be trying K&S soon.

I've only tried a small amount thus far, but I have a feeling you'll enjoy it. It reminds me of gingerbread. It's far less sweet than most rums I've tried, which I love.

Sort of. Half way through the cigar turned into a major asshole and would go out after every third puff. After 45 minutes of fighting I threw in the towel and the cigar.
That's a shame. My first Opus was a "standard" FFOX from my local lounge, and it was marvelous. I wouldn't say it's necessarily worth the $20-$25 fresh, but I'd love to try one with 3 or 4 years on it.
