In 2006, the J.C. Newman Company introduced the Stanford’s 90th Diamond Crown Maximus cigar. An L.E. Cigar to pay tribute to Stanford Newman, one of the first people to popularize the Cameroon wrapper, the firm’s reigning icon, who turned 90 in June 2006, making him the oldest living cigar professional in the business at the time. Sadly, he passed away two months later in August of 2006. Their goal was a full flavored Cameroon wrapped Cigar. I would call it a definite medium plus and just awesome flux in flavors. When I got this cigar it had been kept at 65% humidity for almost 10 years and seemed brittle, so I gave it a month in 75% which I think turned this into a dream of a cigar. What a treat. It started out slow for about the first quarter. Then BAM! the rest was a wonderful Rollercoaster of unique flavors. If you ever get the chance. Give it a month in a little high humidity. Make it your first cigar of the day with a cleansed pallet, and try it. 20160503_022814.jpg
