Random question about AJ Fernandez.
Have you ever heard of the Resposado 96? It's a perfecto, 7 1/2"X58. The only reason I brought this up was because this cigar (unbanded, no label) is my uncles favorite cigar. I keep telling him it's crap, and give him better cheaper cigars to try. But he persists to stick to that cigar. I had to investigate it further but I found out it was blended by AJ Fernandez. I told him it must be a "Fumas" or 2nds, because AJ usually had his name everywhere on his cigars.

Anyways have you tried that one?

I've never seen one before l. Your right about AJ putting his name on anything he releases. Even when he collaborates he has his name on it

Munroe falls, OH
Lit cowboy style with AB tabletop
Iced creamed Nicaraguan coffee
82 sunny almost no breeze (unusual hot and sunny)
Book pirates of Savannah

Cold cap
sweet tobacco
Mild Earth
Mild cedar

First 3rd
Loose draw so smoking slowly
Mild leather
Very earthy
Spicey cedar notes(retro)
Twinge of tanins (celloed) false full body
Bakers chocolate here and there

Inch in 2.5 inch soft warm cigar
Tanins gone
Lots of smoke from loose draw with no evidence of addatives
Loose ash loose bundling
Mild earth
Balanced with leather
Med med full
Cedar comes and goes
Cayenne spice mild with creamy nuttiness

2nd 3rd 30 min
Medium full body same strength
Rich tobacco notes hidden in chocolate on palette
Cedar gone to oak
Harsh earth left quickly
Pepper on retro
Balanced out with a bit of leather and cream in end

Final 3rd 45min
Rearing into full body. Medium full strength.
Sweet tobacco back
Slight leather and ever so light cayenne
Bakers chocolate here and there
Balanced cooler finally
Purge to keep lit
Meat!
Laid to rest with an inch and a half. Too hot.
Total smoke I hour 2 minutes.

Over all. If you got a bundle in cello, take em off to blend a bit more unless you wanna sit on them for 14 years. Have a lot of character and some potential for complexity. Wish I had more to compare later.

I take of the cellophane off all my NCs
Let them breathe, it makes a big difference in allowing them to ferment in the humidor. It's like a cigar condom. It's gotta go
