Well I haven't had a Patel I've liked yet, so we'll see how this works out....
Picked up by one buddy on the recommendation of another.

Not too bad so far. Not really my style, but I guess I can understand what some people see in this particular one.
Probably smokes better without the band in the end

Braving the "bomb cyclone" winter storm. Only 17°F and very windy. You can see snow on the table beneath my glass.

A new concoction: this one's called a TNT. Paired with a Laranja Reserva, mostly because the colors matched lol.

2 parts Pernod or Absinthe
2 parts cognac (I used Hennessy VS)
1 part Cointreau
Dash(es) bitters (I used Angostura)

Stir with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.

Black licorice is still the dominant flavor, but it's nicely balanced by the orange notes of the Cointreau and the spiciness of the bitters.
