A 07 cohiba maduro 5 genio. As much as I hate to say this, it was just meh....
too bad! I really enjoy the line! I'm still undecided between the Secretos and the Reyes, but would probably go Secretos.

Tonight is a La Verite 2009 (churchill), paired with Balvenie 17 New Oak, which sadly finishes the bottle for me.

I'm only 1" into the Verite, but the first 1/2" or so was incredibly sweet. Now its getting back to more of what I would expect from a Nic stick. Hoping it returns to that sweetness.

The two pair fairly well together... kind of. The sweeter oak in the Balvenie does pull out some of the sweeter notes in the Verite, but the resulting aftertaste is sadly a bit mixed... a combo of brine, oak, and something I can't quite put my finger on... almost sour. So to put it more succinctly, the pair starts well, ends not so well.

We'll see though... only an inch in so far.

Tat Havana cazadores with 6 months in the humi. With the strength reduced a little bit the flavors really shine. Top notch
