  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Had a Punch RS#11 after lunch, thinking about a LGC Medialle d'Or #4 tonight, just got them in today and it's been a few yrs since I had one. :blob: :smokingbo :applause:

Had dinner with Erich and later Dean met up with us.

First was an '04 Famosa ... waiting for Azucar to open... got there just a little too early.

Then a Cohiba Piramide EL 2001... it was almost as meaty and tasty as the pork chop I had for dinner.

Enjoyed an '03 Sancho Panza Non Plus on the way in to work today.

I really like these...the '03s taste so different from the '98s I have it's almost like a different cigar.

Last night I had a Punch Churchill '97. Started off mild/bland ... middle third started to get light spices ... a bit cerdary ... last third turned into a classic PUNCH ... medium-to-bold flavor ... worked it down to the nub! Great cigar.

Tonight I 'm meeting some guys up at Club Macnudo. I put a bunch of sticks in the otterbox but narrowed it down to a Monte DC EL and an aged Fundadore - will decide when I get there.

I thought it time to try another Trinidad Reye. I think it went bad from lighting though. I think the matches are those safety ones that can spoil the flavour and I think the idea that 70 humidity is the best doesn't always ring true. The cigar burnt wonderfully but none of the nice white smoke or ash of last time. It tastes of burnt tobacco and I think mainly it was down to my humidor. I'm now going to try for around 65% humidity and see what happens as cigars seem to be tasting better when i get them, which make the humidifiers a useless bit of furniture at this moment in time :frown:

What Todd said. Browsing the various boards out there brought the 65 degrees/65% RH ideal to my attention quite quickly and I've never looked back.

Haven't smoked in a week. My wife has been in England for 5 days and will be there for another 6. I normally don't smoke in my finished basement due to her asthma but this would be the perfect time...what is wrong with me! :dunno:
