  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Nah, I have this disease called sarcoidosis...too long to describe as it can affect so many parts of the body (actually it's what Reggie White died from) but with me its mainly the lungs and the lymph glands in the upper chest. It makes breathing a little harder but no big deal. I haven't had a scan in about 5 years so this new Dr. wants another.
Problem is now he is going to find out I have no heart! :eyebrow:
Good news is in this disease 1/3 get worse, 1/3 stay the same, and 1/3 get better....I appear to be in the 1/3 that stays the same.

Dang...good luck on the scan's bro'. Glad to hear it seems to be in the "stay's the same" category. We'll keep hoping for the "gets better" to pop up though! :)

Fired up an '03 Monte No.1 to compare with the '00 Tubo yesterday. I have read that these are the same cigar witht he only difference being the tube. The No.1 is almost a full 1/4 inch longer than the tube though.

They tasted very similar to say the least but the younger No.1 presented more and thicker flavor.

Yesterday, based on my memory, I would have desribed the tubo as tasting younger.

After smoking the No.1 today I could describe the tubo as tasting a little 'dry' like a dry wine as compared to the No.1. The No.1 seemed more rich and smooth even though it was younger.

Interesting about the dry comment. Since Diplomatico and Montecristo are very similiar blends, I have only used that to describe Dip's not Monte's .

RA 898V for me! Thanks to Todd. Quite a wonderful smoke...right down to the nubbage. Hey Todd, did this one make you loopy at all? heck, I'm having trouble typing for cryin' out loud. This doesn't happen to me much but I think this one's knocked me for a little bit of a loop. haven't smoked one this long in quite some time...

Nice! Gotta love 'em...and yes, gets me pretty good.

I just lit up the circa 1978 H. Upmann Naturals that Craig gave me as a celebratory deck smoke. Fuggin' gooda so far...smooth and rich. I'm able to exhale most of each draw through my nose with no irritation what so ever.
