My wife became a Shohei fan this season so we watched a buncha games. Although I didn’t play organized baseball, I had to explain a whole bunch of stuff to her. For the record, I’ve been a Cardinals fan since the ‘67 Series. The local NBC affiliate announced that they were gonna broadcast all the games LIVE and in COLOR so my Dad bought a color TV just to watch the weekend games. Bob Gibson was amazing and got me hooked on the Redbirds.

I was a 6 year old, first year baseball fan living in Detroit in 1968. Tigers won the Series, but I learned who Bob Gibson was. 17 strikeouts in Game 1. 3 complete games, 1.67 ERA. Amazing indeed.
