  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hey guys - taking a bit of a road trip. Two weeks, and most of it will be in remote area's. In other words, far away from any B&M Tobacco shop (Yellowstone and later the Badlands).

I have decided to quelch my tobacco needs exclusively via the pipe on this trip. The cigars will stay home lol. But I have never traveled with pipe before.

I intend to pack two or three unopened as of yet tins with those little tobacco moisturizers inside to keep em moist. Going to pack 3 bryars with cleaners. Can't really think of anything else I'll need. Can't see any pitfalls either.

Any advice?

Just to make it fun I have included a poll - help me pick the tobacco I'll be packing. I haven't tried any of them. Pick 3 of the ten in the poll - thanks :)!!

Don't forget your tampers and lighters. If you can, bring a can of fuel too to refill if needed! Maybe order one of those Bradley Mountain pipe rolls that @K Williams posted if you can get it in time! That would be a good test on how you like it. Hope you have a safe trip and take lots of pictures for us!
Hey good looking out. Yeah a little zippo fuel - didn't think on that. And yeah a tamper too lol!

Also, frankly, as I've learned the hard way, don't travel with anyone you can't stand losing. Consider bringing a few MM Cobs like the Mark Twain that have some heft. Maybe even a Freehand. If they bite the dust along the way, it's not the end of the world.

I was going to say that same as Rev - maybe take one nice briar but take 2 or 3 cobs. If you're smoking while driving, one little bump in the road and you'll watch your pipe bouncing along the road in your rear view mirror. LOL

No smoking in the car lol - got the kids with me. Actually, my pipes are going to be my little treat at the end of the day when I put the kids to bed. If I am lucky and can handle the kids incesent "daddy you shouldn't smoke bs lol," maybe I'll have a bowl while hiking :).
