  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Type of lighter or spark device and why?

I was discussing lighters with a buddy of mine at my local B&M and he showed me his double-torch Xikar which I really liked. He also thought that a triple-torch was not only overkill, but probably gets your smoke too hot and may have an impact on flavor.

Any thoughts?

Lotus Table style Tatuaje triple flame. Lights em quick without scorching, and is too big to lose (most of the time). Got in on eBad for 31 delivered.

This is the lighter I use at home, it's on the table next to my easy chair in the living room.

I carry two lighters with me at all times, I also carry a Palio, Xikar XV-Cut Cutter and a three-way bullet punch everywhere I go too.

Ronson Jetlight on the left and IM Corona Double Corona Lighter on the right.

I have found that I like a single torch, do I own any...nope :hanghead:. I usually use a Bic unless I'm with someone who has a butane. Still on the hunt for a Ronson, but it seems no one in the area has any...will probably have to resort to the internet :dunno:. I also haven't fully decided on if I want to get a butane insert for my Zippo...oh how I miss my Zippo :crytears:.

I'm still partial to the soft flame, then again if I'm inside cedar strips are mainly what I use.

Outside I use a Colibri Boss II. For someone reason I seem to be the only one that doesn't have trouble with Colibri, but I'll take it.

I own a variety of torches, still prefer the single flame, triple flame is badass, but seems overkill and doesn't necessarily provide the best lights.

Oh yeah, I mainly smoke outside.

I have a Xikar Havana soft flame that I really like. Especially for touchups or relights never too much. I also have a couple of butane torches. I have a double flame from Rocky Patel I like a lot

My preference is a soft flame, but I like using a torch to touch up flaws, so I own a few of those slide top lighters that have both a torch and a natural flame on them. Not 100% reliable, but they are like 7$ each, and are super convenient. Also have a few nice torches, but rarely use them. Just like how I own 6 cutters, but only ever use my Palio...

I use a zplus in an Aube Embers faux-Zippo case.

I like that I finally have a use for the faux-zip, but the zplus inserts are kind of shitty. This insert I have now, doesn't work right and I got it 2 weekends ago...

I use a single flame torch because when I push the button fire comes out the end. I find the fire very useful when looking to light a cigar. Seriously though it's all I need to toast, saves fuel and is great for touch ups or scorching that piece of wrapper that's starting to peel.

All my torches are single, but I've seen some sweet doubles and triples that I'd like to have.

I enjoy the slow, tantalizing toast of the single flame...
