UFC on Verses - Kongo vs Barry live Undercard

Once again the UFC will be airing the entire undercard for tonights card on facebook starting at 6pm.

The following is from UFC.com:

"Due to late medical licensing issues, Nate Marquardt has been pulled from Sunday's UFC Live main event in Pittsburgh. Stepping in to face Rick Story on the main card will be Pennsylvania's own Charlie Brenneman, and the Cheick Kongo vs. Pat Barry bout has been elevated to the main event slot. UFC Live airs on Versus at 9pm ET / 6pm PT."

Shortly after, UFC.com issued a video statement from president Dana White which announced Nate Marquardt's mysterious release from the UFC. More information as this story develops.

A buddy texted me about this. Will be interesting to see what the deal is. Apparently its not a weight issue, but something that came up with his medical.

well i never did like Marquardt never thought of him as a top tier guy nor did i care for his personality. Now that UFC owns almost all the major MMA outfits going to be tough for him to find a home. bellator it is I guess

I'm curious to see if the guys that get cut from the UFC on bad terms, will get signed by these lesser UFC entities. Strikeforce has Paul Daley, but that was inherited. Once his contract is done, I wonder if they will resign him or let him go as Dana said he will never fight in the UFC again. Does Strikeforce mean UFC now to Dana??? We'll see.

They have said that strikeforce will be run as a seperate entity but said the same about the WEC. As for Daley going to come down to money, if he draws a large crowd then they'll find a spot for him but probably wont be getting title shot anytime soon.

Damn!!! Embarsing for him.

Both those heavy weight tilts were awesome!!! I was not a fan of meat head on the UF show, but he is coming along nicely, and Kongo really pulled off an amazing knockout, especially after it looks like he suffered a couple flash knock outs himself.

Not sure that I saw the Hepatitis anywhere, but if Marquart didnt release the information then it is just rumor at this point.
