  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I like pipes that are "different"....

I brought back a hand carved ebony pipe a few weeks ago that I picked up in Addis Ababa (thats actually smoking pretty decent! I was somewhat surprised..)..

One of my favorite smokers is a cheap meerschaum that I picked up in Iraq back in 2004 that looks like a golfball on the end of a straight stick (weird looking.. but I have never seen another one like it.. there are lots of "golf balls" out there.. but this one is unlike those.. I almost wonder if it wasnt a "second" or flawed in some other way???)..

This past week I picked up a "peace pipe" from a Native American guy that was making them at the Taos Pueblo in New Mexico (havent smoked it yet.. but planning on it soon)...

What hand mades or uniques (not factory or common production pipes) are you guys smoking?

I don't smoke these but my in-laws gave me these 2 which are kind of unique at least to me. They are both briar and seem smoke able. The mini one is on a card dated 1951 from a south side Chicago gift shop and the wooden shoe is from Holland Mi. from around same time period they thought. The penny is for size comparison.
