  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Update on Joe Arpaio

in california, we call it 3 hots and a cot. i have some eccentirc ideas how to whip the CA prison system in shape! it's called 'privatization.' and, instead of sentencing convicts to 'time', they sentence them to 'hours worked.' and if they don't want to work, they can stay in their little cubical for 23 hours, and walk about for one! if you stop making it 'soft', a majority will quit coming back!!

oh, i have a total dissertation on this subject. tried to do my master's thesis on it,,, was shot down because it was a 'how to', and not an analytical assessment.

I love this guy...and he only feeds them two meals per day! They get enough calories, not any extra....yeah, it's hot, but like he said our soldiers in Iraq are staying in much worse...

its about time that someone steps up and takes control. I like how this guy thinks. I am so freaking happy that he is doing this. the downside of this is, I just know a lawyer will step up and defend a guy and say how he was mistreated and how it is inhumane and shit like that and sue the state.

Heck, there are lots of people here still with no A/C whose houses are just as hot, so no reason these guys should have it any better!

Sorry fellas, but this seems to me to cross the line for me. Don't get me wrong, I detest criminals, but this treatment seems to border on sadistic. Jail shouldn't be a country club, but it should be humane.
It is humane John, before AC everyone who lived here, lived with the heat, it's a desert. They aren't getting beaten up, they get medical care, recreation and a couple of times a day they get fed. Like the old saying goes "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
Sherrif Joe is extremely popular with most folks out here except our Politicians. That's about right, cause most folks don't like our politicians.

Maricopa County has been on the losing end of prisoner lawsuits for years, I think to the tune of $14 million so far. Much more than any other county in the U.S.
