As some of you know, the fiancé and I tied the knot last Saturday (05.27.06). It was a great wedding. Everything went as planned. The weather allowed for us to get married on the 1st tee of the golf course (wedding was held at the country club). You can view pictures of what our friends have taken here. (most have not sent them to us yet tho)
However, we were supposed to fly out to Vegas for the honeymoon. When we woke up Sunday, it was to one of our dogs in bad pain. We rushed him to the emergency vet. He has an injury to what is the equivalent to our rotator cup. So he got all doped up and should be fine. We still had time to get to our flight since we had packed earlier. Then the phone rang we got the call. My mother had fallen ill and would not be able to watch the dogs. She has been battling a bad back problem that requires surgery, she was putting it off until after the wedding due to the 6 month recovery time. Her body could no londer take putting off the surgery. We was ordered to stay in bed and off her feet till her surgery. She is having her surgery on the 8th. She was our only dog sitter we had lined up. Every one else was either on vacation or traveling for business. We tried to board them, but because of the short notice we could not find anyone to do it.
The trip was cancelled. Knew we took out the insurance for a reason. One of my friends felt bad and cancelled 3 days of his vacation so we could sneak away for a few days. So we called some hotels in Boston and found somewhere to stay. We got there Tuesday night and came home today. We had a blast. Hit up some of the clubs and taverns. We stopped by Cheers, Legal Seafood (mmmm) also hit up the New England Aquarium, Science museums and took the history trolley around town. We made the best of it and had a great time.
One of the nights we stopped at Cigar Master on Boylston St. The humidor attendant was very knowledgeable and a great person to carry on a conversation with. After our selection. I had a TTT and the wife had a RyJ. We sat on one of the couches and enjoyed a glass of wine or 2. The atmosphere was great, however the waitress were not the best people. They only catered to the men and if you were with a woman you had to flag them down or go to the bar yourself. We still had a great time there and enjoyed a nice smoke. We also hit up a couple of the other cigar shops in Boston. To see Boston pics click here or more here.
Sorry for the long post just felt like sharing.
