  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I have som questions about the Tatuajes. If you compare lets say the Noellas, 7th, J21...do they share the same blend and are just in different sizes or is it totaly different cigars?

That is the real difference between the reserva series and the regular? The reserva is more of a limited mayby?

Tatuaje is a confusing brand for med. Different Vendors label their Tatuaje products differently...

The Seleccion de Cazador (Brown Label) is made with '99 Corojo Wrappers,
Nicaraguan binder and Fillers

The Reserva's vary '06 Noella Reserva's used an oscuro wrapper, as do the
J21 Reserva's, the new 7th Reserva uses a Conneticut Broadleaf Wrapper
all of them have Nicaraguan Binders and Fillers...

Hope that helps a little. And you're absolutely right.. Every website/retailer
online describes them as something different. CI calls the brown labels, Miami,

New Havana calls the Seleccion De Cazador, etc!

When it comes to the reservas, it is definitely confusing.

The Reserva A Uno, J21 and SW are the original reservas and are still made today. These do not use Conneticut Broadleaf wrappers.

More recently, it seems when a special release is put out, the variations with Conneticut Broadleaf are considered reservas. So Pete did a limited run of regios reservas, noellas reservas (2nd release). . .

In addition, there are some regular release cigars that now follow the same pattern. The 7th reserva has a broadleaf wrapper and is a regular production compare to the 7th natural.

In general, when it comes to the brown labels, most of the cigars have a unique profile. For me, I find the regios, unicos and tainos very similar. The Cojonus are typically more peppery besides the gran cojonu.

I mainly smoke the brown labels over the red label Havana VI, but that is personal preference.

I also used to think that the j21's and the OR 06 noella reservas shared the same ligero wrapper, just like the cojonus. Now I am not so sure. Pete posted on a thread here that the or noella reservas sport a higher priming wrapper that wasn't necessary ligero and that the leaf was too small to use on a cojonu vitola. He also mentioned elsewhere that it was a limited batch of wrapper that he didn't think he'd see again. Someone also mentioned that these wrappers may have been aged longer than the ligero wraps on the cojuno & j21's.

If I were a betting man, I'd wager that the or noella reserva wrapper was medio tiempo, the smaller, flavorful higher priming leaves that don't grow on all tobacco plants ( CC version used in cohiba behike smokes). But that's pure speculation. :dunno:

I really dont think I should be trying to research info forever just to figure out what i am smoking or want to try to get, so therefore thanks for the link. This is the hardest thing to deal with when I try to understand all you guys with the "new tat" posts and the bombing and other crap. Nice to get someone with some knowledge of the brand to put it to writing :)
