  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Welp, there goes my money

My friend who works at the apple store decided to let me use his yearly 25% off personal discount, so I am getting a 15" MacBook Pro 2.33GHz. Saved a bunch of money, but its still not cheap.

Thing is awesome though!! 2GB stock RAM! 120GB stock hard drive! 256MB video ram! I should have it in my grubby little hands sometime next week.

So between this and getting a new office chair, and 20" flat panel for my PC I have had my share of spending for a while all within a week. Though I did get a good deal on the flat panel once I get my $40 rebate!

Somebody stop me!

You could have probably saved another $150 if you kept the RAM at 1 GB stock and purchased third party RAM from Newegg or another trusted vender.

Apple's price on 1 GB RAM is very overpriced.

On the 2.33GHz model the stock ram is 2GB, the option is to go up to 3GB. I did that with my powerbook, getting the default amount and buying ram elsewhere.

I figured with the cold weather I haven't been smoking as many cigars anyway, that and winning the lottery last month is holding me on cigar purchases for w hile :agreeclen

You're gonna love that computer...we've got several Mac laptops at the house right now, including two MBPs (an original Core Duo and a newer Core2 Duo), and they really are fantastic computers. Blows the freakin' doors off the previous Powerbooks we were using.

Ok, I didn't even pay for overnight shipping but I already have the Macbook Pro in my hands. Talk about service! It helps ordering a stock unit too.
