I don’t know what qualifies as real country music but I gotta through some more love to my favorite of all time. Seen him play twice in concert (in Jersey of all places). This song was originally recorded by Kenny but was also recorded by Montgomery Gentry (another favorite of mine) some years later. Amazing lyrics. Probably ranked 3rd in my opinion

John Lennon - Signature Box

Started on this last night in honor of John’s 80th birthday. Made it through “Plastic Ono Band” and most of “Imagine”. Tonight I finished off the last 3 songs of “Imagine” and now sitting through “Some Time in New York City” for the first time in my life. I listened to a few seconds of each but basically skipped over all of the Yoko Ono songs

I’m no music critic but the studio songs on “STINYC” are mostly awful! You’d have to pay me a LOT of money to listen to it again.

More from Lennon’s “Signature Box”

“Mind Games” tonight. Other than the title track, another forgettable Lennon album.

Think I’ll forego the rest of the box set for later.
