An absolutely badass, super-traditional Texas band from years back. I remember being too young to get into one of their shows at a bar and having to beg the bouncer to just draw the X on my hand and let me in.

I lied. You tube popped a recommendation for Jerry Reed and Chet Atkins playing Don't Think Twice. That made me think of this performance. I was there that night and this is the part of the show that stuck with me for 19 years.

In 2003 Branford Marsalis was a professor at North Carolina Central University. It is an HBCU about thirty minutes from the concert venue. It lead to a heavily jazz tinged version of this song. I am glad this was captured for posterity.
