  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

What are you thankful for?

Considering it's that time of the year, I thought it'd be good for all of us to take a minute to think about what we are thankful. After all, that's the point of today right?

I'll start... I'm thankful for all of my needs being met: food always on the table and never going without a meal, a solid roof over my head (which I'm blessed to be able to own), warm clothes in the winter, reliable transportation to my job which I'm blessed with, a faithful and gracious wife who always makes sure I'm taken care of, and last but certainly not least, a beautiful little girl I'll be holding in my arms shortly!

I'll also mention that I'm thankful for being able to enjoy cigars, and the times that come with! I'm thankful for the awesome group of guys here in MS that I can enjoy such an awesome hobby with! And BOTL where I can share and learn with as well!

Well said Brian. Nice thread as well  I'm thankful that I know longer take things for granted! Sometimes I get caught up in what I don't have, or could of had, or only if I had? When I think about all that I do have it's enough! I have a job, transportation to get to my job, a house, 3 children and A lovely wife to make it a home. Essentially it gets no better! I have to say when I think about our service men & women who risk life and limb for freedoms we often take for granted on our own soil. They leave behind there family and friend's and things they hold true to their hearts! That deserves the greatest gratitude! All those things considered, as I thank GOD who made all these things possible!

That my son called me from Afghanistan this morning and said "I love you Dad and Happy Thanksgiving. Save some dark meat for me."

Thanking God for keeping him and the rest of his team safe in Afghanistan.

Amen to that and all our guys. I am especially glad you got to hear from your son and that he is safe and has retained his sense of humor!

I'm thankful that I got to be with my family today, for the first Thanksgiving in years. I'm also thankful that all our needs are still being met, despite me still being unable to find a job.

God bless him. I've waited all day but no word from my son yet. His unit has suffered numerous wounded and two KIA's since his deployment began. I'm thankful that God in His infinite mercy has protected my boy this far. I commend my son and all who serve there to the care of Almighty God.

I'm thankful for this great country of ours, and all the men who have laid their lives on the altar of freedom to ensure my peace and prosperity.

Was home for Thanksgiving 2008 to 2010. That's the first time in 21+ years on Active Duty where I was home the entire time.

My wife, who truly makes me a better person.

My children that God has blessed me with. Though at time they test me, I hope that in the end they can say that I was an awesome dad that showed them how to love, how to be honest, respectful, decent, and good people overall.

Great loving parent who have always supported me, no matter what.

All the other little things that make life possible, job, house, food, clothes, etc...

A place like this that I can come we can come and share a little of each of our lives together. It is always good helping a brother out in need.

Thanks guys!

Today, I was thankful for my family. And for my father taking some time out with me to sit in the freezing cold, shoot the shit, and have a nice smoke. That is what it's all about, to me.
