Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
Ok, so after its lit, you take a couple puffs and you look at the foot. In a normal cigar, you would see that the wrapper seems to 'burn into the ash', its a smooth transition. Whereas if there is a gap like I experience sometimes (and bohizzle apparently feels my pain), you look at the foot and the filler is buring, but there is space between the filler and wrapper. Kind of like a non burning flap around most of the cigar. Its hard to describe...wish I took a pic
This is a remedy from tunneling which is typically caused by an over-saturated wrapper making the filler burn faster than the wrapper. This is actually the wrapper not touching the filler so there is no heat transfer to help the wrapper burn.
Ah! I see what ye mean! Well, depending on the gap size, humidity swells the tobacco; so a tad more RH might help depending yer current RH.

Imagine you have had your smoke lit for a minute or 2, the burn looks even, but somebody has taken a needle or something and scraped out some tobacco between the bulk of the filler and the wrapper, usually in more than just a small spot, which why its hard to correct by touching up. Lightly squeezing the cigar pre-light (which I always do) isn't overly mushy and no soft/hard spots.
