BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Macs are nice machines, no doubt...but I built a very respectable quad core PC for a third of what a Mac Pro would have cost me. I may yet own a Mac one day...when they stop trying to pull my checkbook out through my sphincter.

I have to be even more of a minority than you boston matt. I'm actually a researcher and use my mac almost exclusively. I do however do use a PC every now and then when I forget my mac at home or have to help an undergraduate with some databases or anything in office. I've kinda became the goto mac guy in the building I'm in. (whats sad is we share our building with the universities computing system).
I will say I was a hardcore PC user about 3 years back though and hated everything that mac stood for. At this point I really want to push people away from mac as much as I possibly can because I want the mac to be a niche community and the masses not to infect our OS with malware which is coming because it is increasingly more popular.

I like my Mac. I 've had this one since 2001! Time for a new one indeed. I usually use my wife's PC because it is faster. THis old iBook 700Mhz still works as good as it ever did, she's just getting a little slow, or I'm getting faster! I'll get another Mac at some point.
