I was debating my next purchase. Looking at some Monte 2s, BBFs, or PSD 4s? I have not had any of the 3. What are your opinions on them?

BBF s are incredible IMO. Think they need some time but give it a couple years and they are fantastic. Pretty good ROTT too.

I'm grabbing some #2s myself. I have a few and I had one last week that reminded me how good they are. So I'm gonna pick up a box to stretch out. I've not had a bolivar cc tho (the Bbf is part of my order as well) but I am a big fan of both bolivar and the psd4. That #2 really stood out though and had only been in my humidor about 3 months.

Why buy what someone else likes? I can't stand PSD4s, but others love them. Get a couple singles of each & see for yourself
I like this idea, but the vendor I have used in the past, and trust, does not have singles on their website. That's why I asked others opinions.

Are you wanting a stick to smoke now? Or to put away? PSD 4's are "meh" fresh, but awesome with time. The BBF are better fresh and amazing with time, and I like monte 2's, just not as much as the other two JMHO

A little of both. I would like to be able to smoke a few fresh while putting some away. That way I can see how they change over time.

You can't go wrong with any of them, you have to decide. The Monte is a classic cigar where you can have great ones, but also can suffer from consistency. Bolivars are a more full strength cigar and the Partagas has more spice that needs a lot more aging for my likes. If I had to choose only one cigar out of those, it would have to be the BBF.

This, plus I second the comment above that PSD4s are not good fresh (for me, at least).

I'd recommend the BBFs or Monte 2s, but as Ryan says, some boxes of Monte 2s are really nothing special. A bit more of the luck of the draw.

Since the Montes and the Partagas both come in 10 count boxes I think I am going to get those 2. Or are the Partagas 8-9-8s better than the PSD4s?

That's not a bad strategy. Both those Partagas sticks have their partisans, and both require some age to shine. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

I would take 898 over PSD4s every day but I don't like PSD4s like everyone else seems to.

10 is more than enough to get u going then box purchase what you like. If u just don't like one or the other I'm sure u can trade em with someone who does maybe even get a boli out of it to try as well.

Decided to go with 2 ten count boxes. The Monte 2s and the PSD4s. Bolivars will have to come another time. Thank you all for your input.
