I recently placed my first order with a trusted vendor on this site. I received my order on yesterday and opened the box to find that the Don Alejandro's that I ordered appear to be box pressed. I have ordered many boxes of cigars and this is the first time that I have encountered this problem. I immediately sent out an email to the vendor. Keep in mind that I am not questioning the authenticity of the cigars....only the condition in which they arrived. The pictures that I am including should be self explanitory.

Yes the pic in the middle is 3 cigars stacked on top of one another!

had that happen once on a box of hoyo coronas... very odd indeed. and like you, from a trusted vendor.

not sure what you can do... unless you're unsatisfied with them.

I received a phone call from the vendor on yesterday and was given two ways to resolve this issue. Apparently this is caused by the vacuum seal technique that they use when shipping. It sucks ALL of the air out of the box.

1) I can return the cigars for a new box.

2) I can keep the cigars and be issued a credit on my next purchase (not sure how much the credit would be)

Once again, What would you guys do? I would have to smoke one or two of the cigars in order to determine whether or not they are deemed smokeable. Appearance whise they look like ass!

Greg, This also happened to me with a box of from said vendor. They appeared slightly box pressed. I am very certain that the product is legit. If you think the cigars are as well, I wouldn't sweat it.

to me, this seems like a no brainer. you, with # 2 get cigars, plus free money, which you can spend on more cigars.

i would venture that they'll smoke absolutely fine. send me two and I'll verify.

Thanks Legends for your insight on this predicament. I went with option #2 as you suggested. I spoke with the vendor in question and he informed me that the damages were sustained as a result of the vacuum technique that they use when shipping. Which makes perfect sense to me.

Scott you are definitely good for two. Should I save them until October 23rd?

Hey, you could have my problem. I bought a Davidoff from DKlugs sale. When I got the package there were two in the bag (plus a smaller Upmann freebie.) I pm'ed Dave and said thanks. But I only paid for one. Now, I could be an asshole and say too bad so sad. Or I could do the right thing and send him the other $65. Considering that I'm not that kind of asshole, I'm sending him more moolah.

On a related note, I really am going to have a sale soon.

I took the oppurtunity to sample a few of the sticks and all is well.

Legends...That doesn't sound like much of a problem to me. It appears to me that Dave set you up to spend the extra $65.00. He knew all along that you would send the extra $$$$.

So when is this sale taking place?
