  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

What would you pay for this stick?

Local shops usually charge a more at least here in NY.

Found out for a $10 smoke let’s say, just in taxes is like $6 and the rest is for the shop’s profit. It hurts the B&M to “mark up” so to speak but they get little profit here.

I’d pay for one to say I smoked it. Like the Padron 50th anniversary smoke.

I just bought 4 for 16.95 a stick, If you bought a Toast Across America two-packs for 50 bucks you could buy one 20th Anniversary and one other limited edtion cigar. Didn't realize what a good deal it was at the time, to bad three of the sets are already spoken for.

Nope. Too many preconceived notions going in with the price. I could be say 10% less satisfied with a 5$ cigar (if the cigar in question is worth the price tag). But, money is always an option for me. If it were not then F it.

Be happy you not in the Kommy Kalifornia, there a Stick that Wholesales for $10.00/ is hit with a $6.80/Stick Tabacco 68% of wholesale price tax. Then you have about 12-15% more tax, depending on where you buy, City, Country & State Sales TAX for the Topping on your Pleasure.

standard B&M markup is 100%.
this is called "Keystoning"
so your 10.00 cigar in my state (NC) is a 4.00 wholesale stick, marked up to 8.00.
the last 2.00 are taxes.
some crooked sellers will then add sales tax on top of this.

Well that is why if is good to know prices, and MSP. We have a B & M in my start that sell Jetline lighters, at big mark up. So there 12 dollar MAP lighter that cost 6 ducks, is 20 + TAX.
