Been smoking this P&C Cavendish in the Woods stuff lately. First smoke in this Denny Souers pipe and it smokes like a champ.

Captain Black Original is the choice for me right now. I also have some Super Value Cherry Cavendish that's on the docket occasionally. Neither are particularly fancy, but are good smokes.

Evidently this is the quintessential old man pipe tobacco smell with billows of thick smoke - would you agree? I've been searching for the blend my grandfather smoked which very well might have been a drug store blend like this or admirals choice

Are you referring to the Captain Black or the Super Value? I definitely get the "old man pipe" aroma from the Captain Black. It's smooth and produces nice smoke
