Hey guys,

Any of you have a favorite Balvenie scotch? I have always been a big fan of the doublewood 12 year but just recently tried the 12 year single barrel and this stuff rocks! Tons of vanilla, oak, and bourbon like flavors. Has anyone tried the 15 year single barrel? If so, do you like it?

im going to agree the 21 port wood is my favorite. a Buddy just picked up the peated cask 17 year for me after dropping and breaking my madeira cask and that's damn good also. I awaiting the release of the MUWat KFC to have with the peated cask or some argbeg.

the 30 year if your buying. crazy priced. you have to go to next years Peatin Meetin here in L.A. I had off the charts stuff you can't get in the states. they had over 200 different scotches for only $100. Tatuaje did the cigars and I smoked a J21, 10th year Noella and a 7 year old Cuban Juan Lopez. great annual event!!!

The 30 year Belvenie is over $900 a bottle. I have never even tried it. I have had 30 year Macallan a few times at around $70 a glass I do not have it very often. I found the 21 year Belvenie port cask at Old Oaks for $190 a bottle so I have been buying it there. That Caribbean Cask you can get for less than $70 a bottle. That is a deal.

The 15yo is great. I really like the whole profile of the brand. Haven't really had a bad one yet.

Hi guys!

I have a bottle of Cuban Cask that I bought in Europe. Is the Caribbean Cask the same but name changed due to embargo, or is it finished in non-Cuban rum casks?

Thanks, Rene'

A limited edition that was released in 2009 and originally produced for the French market that uses Cuban rum barrels. Still a 14yo scotch, just like the Caribbean cask.

Generally I love an oddball mix of Islay, Highland, and Speyside malts. As for Balvenie, the 12 year doublewood is a staple in my cabinet. it is a great drink no matter the reason, time, temperature, or company. As for my favorite...I'll go with the 21 year old Portwood. $33.oo a glass at a local bar here in Texas(I'd like to thank my extremely bad at betting friend for that celebratory drink) coupled with a cigar is a perfect evening.
