  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

What's your favorite hot weather libation?

It's been hot as hell here in central Texas for the last few weeks, and it's put me to task to find a nice cool summer beverage to counter the heat.

Right now, a lychee (small, pulpy fruit native to southeast asia) cocktail is tops in my book, and I thought I'd share the recipe...

Add the following in a shaker over ice:
2oz Vodka
2oz Cranberry Juice
1oz Lychee Syrup

Shake vigorously to chill, toss it all in an old fashioned glass and garnish with a lychee fruit stuffed with a cherry. Refreshing, cool summer sippin'.

(I get canned lychees in syrup in my local grocery store in the asian foods section.)

Now to the point! What're you drinking to beat the heat?

Beer usually. Though I love a good mojito with a cigar.

White rum w/ Hibiscus & Cranberry juice on the rocks.

I also make a Mango, Pineapple, Strawberry, OJ slushie with heavy pours of white rum for incredibly hot days... but those usually get saved for days the wife is drinking as well. I don't know the proportions by number, just by sight in the blender (and it is a really stupid-big blender).

Agreed!!!

Beer -- A Barney (Andygator and purple Haze)

Vodka- Tonic or cranberry

Being from Louisiana we're spoiled with Daiquiris because we just go through the drive through. While on this topic... hell we can buy anything we want just about any place that wants to sell it. :stretchgr

Last year, we didn't get a summer in San Diego. It was 68 all summer long, and overcast (much as it is in the late spring). Last July, I had to go to Seattle to see the sun. Talk about irony...

Drive-thru's are nice... what about the Mav's? They look like they can take the title especially if the continue to shut down James.
Well, Still going to be tough to take one on the road, but they've got 2 chances to do it, and it helps keep my mind off the Saints during the NFL lockout!
