  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

What's your favorite hot weather libation?

Well, Still going to be tough to take one on the road, but they've got 2 chances to do it, and it helps keep my mind off the Saints during the NFL lockout!
I here ya this lockout nonsense is crap. The good news right now for the mav's is they are shutting down James in the forth. I just hope they can do it one more time.

Yes, and to bring this thing back to on-topic, IF the Mavs are able to win it all, I'll celebrate with a sazerac !!

My in general favorite for hot weather is a Corona and lime.

However, I love a good cup of coffee and cigar but the weather is heating up so quickly here in NC that it's too warm to enjoy coffee outside even early. I am brainstorming on a good cool morning beverage to have with my stoge tomorrow. I'll probably just go easy and have ice coffee...

I've been brewing coffee the night before so it cools off by morning. That way when it's poured over ice it does not melt all the ice and turn watery.

Mojito when I want something nice and cool. Really like the idea of a dirty mojito. For those who drink them, do you go "dirty" with raw sugar, brown sugar or dark rum? Or some combination of those I guess...

I go dirty with dark rum, I never considered using raw or dark sugar. Hmmm, fresh mint the fridge may have to experiment tonight.

Agreed!!!

Beer -- A Barney (Andygator and purple Haze)

Vodka- Tonic or cranberry

Being from Louisiana we're spoiled with Daiquiris because we just go through the drive through. While on this topic... hell we can buy anything we want just about any place that wants to sell it. :stretchgr
I do love a good Andygator. I like to mix turbo dog and andygator to make a Terminator.

You could also make coffee/espresso ice cubes to pour you fresh morning coffee over... Makes it extra cold with no watered-down effects.

Been drinking mojitos like crazy. Got all types of mint growing around the house. I put one or two leaves of genovese basil in each mojito and it gives it a good flavor witht the mint. Lavender sometimes is good. I go clean and dirty on my mojitos, just depends on what mood I am in. Zaya for dark, Flor de Cana for clear rum are my choices.

Beer of choice is Barrilito. A refreshing <4% alcohol beer from Mexico. Most people have never heard of it unless your from the border states or the valley. Goes great with a lime and is a perfect yardwork drink. Too hot here to drink heavy beers, and Corona tastes like piss to me (eventhough much of it is made in San Antonio). Dos Equis, Tecate Lite, Negra Modelo, and Tona are much better South of the border choices IMHO.

1812 Amber Ale from the Sackets Harbor Brewing Company. Ice cold. So cold that when you pop the top on the bottle you get that rush of "beer slushie" in the bottle neck.

Bloody Mary - made with Absolut Pepar and Demitri's
Screw Drivers
COLD Guinness
Margaritas with Patron Silver

Other than that, I like Green Monster Energy or simple Strawberry Koolade!

Nice list of cervezas de Mexico! I would also add Cucapa's "Chupacabra" to that list. It is a micro-brew from Mexicali, BC that rivals Sierra Nevada in hop characteristics, but a little bit sweeter from the malts! I'll trade you some Barrilito for some, if you want. To my knowledge, we can't get Barrilito here in California.

What is it with you northerners and Pepsi?? I love Jack, but either straight up or with a Coca Cola products. Do you all not like coke?? :bottle:
Coke always seems so heavy. I could polish off a 2L of diet pepsi in a couple hours, but I cant finish a can of Coke. + Diet pepsi just has superior taste. :awholelot
