  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Where are the good tobacconists in NYC?

Going to NYC this weekend and staying at Le Parker Meridien on W 56th St. I want to pick up some cigars while I'm there.

Any good stores to pickup some Tatuajes (maybe limited ones too) nearby? I know Davidoff and Cigar Inn II are a 1.5 miles from the hotel. Any suggestions? Are the taxes terrible and not worth buyiing them? Thanks brothers.

I was just there this weekend and was recommended to go check out De La Concha (I was looking for Pepin My Father) and that recommendation came from a girl working at one of the Nat Shermans. I did not make it to DLC though it's on 56th and 6th I do believe.

I just checked the DLC is right around the corner from the hotel. That's a definite stop.

My time is limited (only 24 hours), but want to go to the best store. Which one do you recommend JR Cigar, Nat Sherman, Davidoff, Cigar Inn? Are there anymore?

Thanks.

Wouldn't you like to know?
My favorite for selection was the Barclay Rex on lexington. It was my favorite with only the cigar inn coming close. DLC has a great lounge but not nearly the selection of cigars. JR's has the most cigars but held the least interest for me. The burger joint in the hotel is awesome. I stayed there in October.

All the shops in NYC have their own little niche going but you can't excape the city without visiting the new Cigar Inn on 2nd Avenue & 53rd street or Merchants on 62nd and 1st.

When you stop in to De La Concha, ask for Ron and tell him I sent you. If he lets you stay, that means he's not mad at me anymore.

Thanks brothers...

I watched the video on Cigar Aficionado and it reaffirmed what everyone has stated.

The wife wants to go to a cigar lounge too.:ccool:

I had less than 24 hours in the Big Apple, but was able to check out the Cigar Inn II, Davidoff (closed for inventory), Carnegie Club and De La Concha. All were interesting, but none of them really blew my socks off. Cigar Inn had cool barber chairs, lounge was nice and good selection, Carnegie Club was too dark and more bar than cigar lounge, DLC was small, but quaint and great service. Couldn't get to Barkley Rex (too far) and Grand Hanava Lounge (too wasted- LOL).

I picked up some house DLC toro sized full bodied cigars rolled by Pepin Garcia and loved them. He didn't have any Tatuaje, just Mi Barrio and My Father. I may call them to order a bundle.

Does anyone know what cigars I'm talking about? HELP.

I could call them... but someone will know what it is.

Thanks.

Unfortunately there are even more that aren't on the list. Barclay Rex also some unbanded cigars they said were made by DPG. I had a couple of the DLC house cigars as well and found them to be good as well. I don't know enough about either to give any help to guide though

I stand corrected. Just checked out the guide and it only has the Mi Barrio and My Father (I updated some photos ye couldn't see anymore as well)
