  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So I have been looking and looking for this "Holy Grail" of pipe tobacco and can find it nowhere. I am somewhat new to smoking pipe tobacco. I mean, I have been smoking off and on with some cheap stuff or CAO branded smoke. However, I keep reading about Penzance and Stone Haven, but both seem to be gone EVERYWHERE. Anyone have a source I may know about?

seems to me like chasing DE unicos: partly timing, and partly having a good relationship with places. also like the unicos, the secondary market is stupid.

good luck on the hunt!

Keep an eye out on Black Cat Cigars, they get it in pretty regularly and it doesn't sell out as fast as some of the bigger retailers like smokingpipes.com

For those of you that have penzance, how do you store it? Is it best to leave it in the bag or move it to a mason jar? sorry, had to ask, I know there have been discussion before as to mason jar vs. tin, but I don't remember bags being brought up

jar them... those bags aren't suitable for long term storage.
Yes they are, I have never had a problem when I open a bag, and I have bags that have sat for years.
Agree, I've never had an issue. If the bag were to get compromised, then I would transfer it, but the bags are fine. You would always be able to feel if the tobacco were getting dry. If you're paranoid, just jar it, otherwise leave it in the bag. G1

if that's worked for you... cool. but one little pin prick will likely change your mind. i've had this problem with esoterica bags in the past and so have a number of people i know. so for the past few years i just jar them up on arrival and have no worries.
