  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Being a new cigar smoker I thought that I wanted a spicey cigar but what I really want is a cigar with a good solid liqueur taste. I smoked some Avanti anoisette cigars and they had a liqueur taste to them but the cigar wrapper is as hard as nails. It feels like a stick in your mouth. Anyway they were good and am wondering if there are some other brands with a liqueur taste?

There are a variety of "infused" cigars with cognac or whiskey flavors. Not my favs but to each his own.

Sauza Tequila Infused Cigar
Courvoisier Cognac Infused Premium Cigars

IMO, it might be best to try and make your own.

- Buy some inexpensive mild cigars in the size you like. (JR Alternatives would be good for this, but there are plenty of decent cigars for $1 /ea or less)

- Unwrap 2-3 cigars and leave them out in the open for a couple of days to dry out somewhat (not in direct sunlight though)

- Get a medium sized tupperware container, your favorite liquor and a shot glass

- Put the cigars in the tupperware, pour a partial shot of liquor and put that in the tupperware also.

- Carefully put the lid on tight and wait for a few days.

- Open up the container and smoke one. If not enough liquor flavor then wait a few more days to smoke the next one. You will soon see how long it takes for the cigar to absorb enough flavor to suit your tastes.

- Experiment with other kinds of liquor or different cigars

- Soon you might discover that it's best to just smoke a nice cigar and drink your liquor at the same time.

- Either way - have fun!
