I didn't know you guy's were crazy about pipes, I just looked through the pipe threads and whats surprising to me is that the pipe post/threads have fallen off? I guess my new interest is your old news? A lot of you have quite the collection of exquisite pipes. I got some catching up to do, don't mind me if you start seeing some old threads and new post from Jan 2010, Im just doing a little history on my new hobby. Nice threads Fellas

I, too, have been searching through OLD topics/posts for info. I've learned quite a bit so far. We should start a "pipe newbie support group" haha.

I like pulling the pipe out in the winter months... shorter smokes, warms the hands. etc... seems like the pipe talk does come up more often in the winter here, and taper off as we put the pipes up for the summer maybe?

Lots of great pipe smokers on the board though. Tons of info.

I'm with you Mike, I just can't do the pipe when it's hot and humid outside.

I think you will start seeing more posts about pipes as the colder months approach. Its getting cooler here in Hawaii too so I have busted out my pipes the last few days after a 3 or 4 month hiatus.

I'll always be a cigars first kind of guy but the pipe busies my hands in a different way and requires a different frame of mind for relaxation to me .Plus the flavors are more subtle to my palatte so I hav ea lot more to learn and play with.

SMoking Chelsea Morning right now.

I picked up some French Vanilla from the local B&M to tide me over until my Christmas cookie gets here. It was like 30f outside trying to with stand the cold while taking a quick puff. It was like trying to take a piss in the wind! Guess I'll savor the flavor another day.

A forum that I've belonged to for 9 years dedicated to the pipe and tobacco can be found here:

http://brothersofbriar.forumotion.com/index.htm

I highly recommend it. It's lightly moderated and what moderating there is is mostly done by the members offline through private messages.

There was a shakeup and a splintering due to three members posting URLs to porn sites and making lewd, off-topic remarks in threads. As I understand it, some members have left to join a new forum. But overall this forum remains a gold mine of information and discussion.
