Last week I went to to lowes, home depot, target, and wal mart and All of the decent ones were $200+. Lowes up where I live had some dicounted for dents but they looked pretty rough. I am thinking about doing this over the next few weeks as well - I hope you'll be able to give me some pointers.

the only issue with Brandsmart is that they do not list prices online, so you have to physically go to the store to check it out

I was toying with the idea of going to a cooler a few months ago and did some price checking. What I found was that the jump from 35 bottle to 40 or 50 is huge, but you can get a 72 bottle cooler for less than a 40 bottle model....:dunno:

That's a compresor-style cooler, not a thermoelectric one.

It will act like any standard refridgerator...sucking the humidity out of the air inside.

Problem is, that if you only want a TE model, you're limited in size. Most 32s are compressor (that I've seen) and I have yet to find a TE system in anything larger.

A cooled Avallo is an investment....it is also a fine piece of furniture. Yes, you spend more up front, but far less in the long run.

Yea yea, I know.. I seriously am thinking about it, but it will be a few months, but I need to figure something out now, my cooler is F-ed

Yeah, you'd be best served by a thermoelectric model. And like Dan said, they're limited in size (28 bottle being the most common size).

If you want bigger, you might as well go to a cooled Avallo or Aristocrat or something.
