  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Wish me luck

I've been wondering what the hell I'm going to do with my required courses coming to an end. If I don't go to school I don't get money from the GI bill. So there was a predicament.

On a whim today I went on USA Jobs and miraculously found a one year position at the local Army Depot as a "munition destroyer". Sounded right up my alley considering I did a lot of munition destroying when I was explosive ordnance disposal. There are four positions open and I don't think there are many qualified applicants to compete against in the area. I'm not counting on it but I actually have some confidence. I have 10 preference points in my favor due to being a veteran with a 10% disability rating. I don't know how much of a help that will be or not. We'll see I guess.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It'd make life easier for the next year and I wouldn't be a poor college student until classes started again. I might be 'sploding shit again! That's the part of my job I miss!

spoding shit either sounds really smelly or like it would be a lot of fun.

I'll keep you in the family prayer jar.

Well guys I just want to say that your prayers must have worked. They called me today to see if I was still interested in the position. They did confirm my fear though that it was over 1.5 hours away and I feel the drive was too much. I had to decline the position too bad it wasn't closer! The good pay would have been offset by burning up tons of gas and three hours spent in the car 5 days a week.
