  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

With what do you accompany your cigar?

A month ago or so, i had a Cohiba magicos or genios, i don't quite remember which one, but i had a strong cup of coffee next to me and i must say it was very good, though i had never done that, i was also wondering with what other drinks or food's you can accompany your cigar to make it a richer taste and with what cigar?:smokingme

for me I drink Dr Pepper when I am smoking a maddie....water the rest of the time...tho I have tried JD Single Barrel with a JDN 1970 Antano Lancero that wroked out pretty nicely...There have been other things I have tried (single malts...dark beers...) with the cigars I smoke (strong and flavorful)...but 98% of the time its just me and the smoke...I still consider myself a n0ob and want to experience all aspects/nuances of the cigar I am smoking at the time...len

Coffee is always a good choice. In the middle of day, I'll often pair a cigar with a tall glass of cold seltzer. I haven't been drinking alcohol very often lately, but I occasionally enjoy a glass of rum or scotch with a cigar.

Asides the seltzer, I couldn't agree more, mate!

(by the way, it was a Magicos, me love)

A good port wine makes an excellent pairing with a cigar. The sweet, woodsy flavor works nicely with a cigar like a ErDM or Juan Lopez.

Cherry coke above Dr. Pepper, but either 'cut' nicely.

Am I that different? I only use water when there is no other choice.
Home brewed tea is my typical go to & coffee is always preffered for am or early evening stogies.

An odd one: I like organic lemonaide with a Miami 8&11.....!

Always water. Usually, in addition (in descending order of frequency :glassesgr ), iced green tea, dark roast coffee (hot or iced), vodka, Irish whiskey, amber rum, or Scotch. The green tea is in the probably fictional hope that the antioxidants in it will help to minimize the chances of cancer from smoking the cigars. :innocent:

I find beer, especially ales can be a good match for cigars. Water is my stand by too, but I've smoked them with scotch, burbon, rum, coffee, tea, soda, etc.

All of the above...except the organic lemonade. If I'm having lemonade I want those lemons grown with as many chemicals and pesticides as possible.

:rolling:

I can't remember the name of it (My wife is a naturalist & does the organics to the point of madness!), but that one type/brand of lemonaide combined with that cigar really brought out the flavors of both, repeatedly...

Who'd eh thunk it.

(I still prefer cherry coke - chemicals & all!)

Dr. Pepper or Coffee (by the way, I am surprised to see how many people drink Dr. Pepper with their cigars) to me either one complement a cigar perfectly.

I'll have to try that Dr. Pepper but I usually have coffee if it's not too hot out or anything from water to bourbon. I also suprisingly really like Coke Zero.

Wow... ok, so conclusion, the way i see it, Dr. Pepper sort of goes best or coffee... Though, i really like the idea of green tea with a cigar.

Thanks! :smokingbo

Orange Crush is the best in my opinion. The citrus taste cleanses your palate, but doesn't linger.

I almost always drink Diet Lipton Raspberry White Tea. Just love the stuff and it makes every cigar taste better IMO. Sometimes I'll drink the Diet Citrus or Mixed Berry Green Tea instead. I've also gone the water route, but prefer something with flavor.
