I've always been an adventurous eater. If a local will eat it then so will I. I would make sure to get all appropriate shots before going to China or any other country in the orient. When we went to Costa Rica, we got a barage of injections to ward off possible diease. But meat on a stick, from a street vendor is a favorite of mine, I just don't ask what it is until after I've eaten it.

Dog paws? Nah, I'm out.

That being said, why would a french association see it fit to try to change customs/traditions in China?

Dog meat ... no way. I love (most) dogs.

Cat? Maybe. There are a few in my neighborhood that should be on the list.

I had mealworms, shark fin soup and possibly dog (it looked like Chinese pork, later told it was dog- not sure what it was though) when I was in China a couple years ago. If it was, in fact dog, it was pretty freakin good. When you're an official guest of the Chinese government, you eat what they bring you. I did pass on the chicken feet, and no freakin way would I eat the paws if I would have seen them.

Not bad, but it does not taste like chicken. You young guys never got a chance to spend time in Southeast Asia. . .

In some other country, your dog would be wondering why they're looking at it that way
