Ok, I realize we call it the devil site for multiple reasons. I just won like 5 auctions and was super stocked for two. However, I checked the shipping and it said those 2 of 5 were on backorder. HOW THE HELL DO YOU GO ON BACKORDER ON AN AUCTION SITE?? I mean come on! Don't put things you don't have up for auction. I don't understand it.

CI has a huge warehouse. Exact numbers don't always apply. Trish from cBid has replied a lot to this question on other websites. The long and short is that when dealing with huge volume, mistakes in inventory tagging and coding can happen from time to time, or there are shipment errors from the manufacturer (outside box says Toro, inside is Robustos) so that screws their inventory, and it's not always discovered until the items are looked for after the sale is registered.

Yeah, I know. I feel kind of bad for making this thread. I've smoked heavily the last week and haven't had a cigar in a couple days so I was super irritable. TBH, I like their customer service, and I always have. Just need to be patient ^^

When I was on the Cbid boards, this was brought up all the time. Of course Trish would jump in with some excuse. Kind of understandable with their size operation, yet in all the years I've dealt with Cigar Auctioneer, this has never happened.

Another thing (of many) they like to do is show a picture of a full box for singles or 5ver auctions. Again, Trish always has an excuse, but other auction sites seem to be able to display accurate pictures of what they are auctioning.

Its understandable that this sort of thing happens occasionally.. the human factor is involved...

the beef I have with cbid.. is when mistakes are made like this.. companies should step up and show some customer service and customer appreciation.. go out of their way to make their customer know that they apologize, are going to fix the problem immediately.. and are taking steps to try and make sure the same problem doesnt happen again in the future..

sadly.. cbid's reputation runs in the opposite direction more often than not.. they just post another excuse.. and go back to business as usual...

I cant say I'll never buy from them again... I use them with some frequency.. but only when I know I am getting a stellar deal do I ever place a bid, and am willing to take the risk..

If Im going to pay MSRP or above MSRP, like I see A LOT of people do when using cbid.. I'll take my business to another company that has a history of taking care of their customers (I really like Emersons for "regular" online purchases)...
